This is My Practice Field, Not My Playing Field

“This is My Practice Field, Not My Playing Field”

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

 Philippians 4:9New International Version (NIV)

All of us, no matter who you are has faced hard and troubled times at least once in our lives. I’m sure some of us have those weeks where it feels like everything is going wrong and it’s always one thing after another. But the good thing is that God is with us always. No matter what troubles we face, God is with us. He may not always answer right then, but He is always with us. You see, God puts us through trials to make us better. For example, He puts us through situations that test our patience so we can gain patience. He puts difficult people in our lives so we can learn to love all of God’s children. God gives us these situations so we can put what we learn into practice and use it, just like the scripture above says. We must stay focused when hard times come and remember His word. God gives us a practice field just like in football so we can practice and perfect what he gives us. It is when we get on the playing field that it matters the most. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. You may be going through tough times now, but remember, this is just your practice field, not your playing field.
